My brother and his family are coming over tonight. Decided to make two 5.5lb pork butts for sammies. Really wanted to do a low and slow, so decided to put the butts on just before midnight. Woke up at 6am and everything was still chugging along at 235-ish. Wife called me around 1pm to say that an hour long massive south florida thunderstorm just came through and the temp is down below 100. Internal temp was 177 but dropped to 155. I left as soon as i could and stopped at Home Depot and purchased this. I'm back up and running but probably lost an hour or two. Going to run at 300-350 and hope i can finish at 200 IT within a few hours. I'll let you know how the finished product is.

I do not own one. Would a BBQ Guru or something similar prevented this from happening? I assume you were cooking with the cap on prior to the storm.

If u put them on at midnight, they should have been done before noon. If rain happens, use some foil. Or not. I guess I don't understand your problem.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Pop that hood off and the chimney effect will help get you warmed up faster.
