Smoked Paprika

With the lump that remained in the mine after I cooked a Cornish Game Hen (no pics) for lunch I smoked a small cake pan of Paprika. My first attempt at this. Two hours at 250F with a handful of oak for the smoke. Sure does smell good. While it smoked I finished off my lunch with homemade cinnamon ginger sweet cheery sauce on chocolate-chip ice cream.

Bought some smoked paprika just a few weeks ago. Good stuff and almost gone now. Maybe time to smoke my own.
The ice cream thing looks great!!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

The cherry sauce looks good man. I didn't know you could smoke paprika. I'll bet the taste is real good...

I do not have it written down...here it is off the top of my hat. One quart stemmed and pitted fresh cherries in a pot, add one cup of water and bring to a simmer. Meanwhile add sugar to taste (3/4 cup), one tablespoon of ground cinnamon and four cubes of sugared ginger. Simmer covered thirty minutes. Make a slurry of one tablespoon of cornstarch and 3 tablespoons of water. While stirring slowly add the slurry to the simmering sauce until the desired thickness is reached. Simmer another ten minutes. Refrigerate.boochsr71 said:what is your recipie for the cherry sauce?? It looks very goodLARGE, MINI BGE SAN DIEGO, CA An alcoholic with a barbecuing problem. -
