I like to use whatever local stout and lager the pub I'm at has on tap.

Don't order a B & T in Boston. Some people take offense to that name. Look up the Black and Tan Army for more detail. Once saw a bar tender in Southie coldcock someone for ordering one. It's a half and half here.

Don' t be ordering any car bombs either...

It seems to me to me from the responses on here that I can use any lager and any stout to make one of these, is that correct?

Try Guinness over hard cider. Makes a decent change. BTW Guinness has less calories than a lot of "normal" beers.
I think Guinness actually has less calories than the same amount of orange juice.

    I have a few comments.

First and foremost, how the heck is beer drinking OT.
I thought it was a requirement to good egging. :)>-

2nd, I've had Black & Tans, they're OK, but IMO, why ruin a good Guinness.

3rd, Well of course they call it Wooster sauce, no drunk (er I mean person) in his right mind tries to make it a 4 syllable word.
