$15.00 invested.. I just empty the bucket into an empty bag of lump when full.
Shop vac sounds easy, I just don't want to store it outside with my egg or transport it from garage. The below takes me all of 30 seconds.

I use an ash vacuum (Cheetah) ... I don't trust an shop vacuum with ash.D'you think I could interest you in a pair of zircon-encrusted tweezers?

I remove the exiting big pieces of lump and set them aside. Then sift thru the ash and small pieces to retrieve some of the smaller pieces of lump. Fire up the shop vac and clean out the remainder. The ash tool takes longer and I get a cleaner Egg using a vacuum.

No power to my "detached patio". I use one of my AR's crossbars to stir the lump in the KAB, lift out the KAB and dump in a large aluminum tray. I just reach in and pull out ash and fines by hand. I wear nitrile gloves when doing Egg chores keeps my paws clean.

I bought an ashvac from newegg after Black Friday for like $15. Well worth it!

Hello all, I know ash disposal has been discussed but does anyone have a creative way or idea to get rid of their ashes in a way that's not an eye sore or that will get blown away?
Here is my situation. I have 3 aces on a pretty open property. I have a small tree line that I share with neighbors. It is very windy where I am at. Im afraid to leave a buck of ashes outside because the buck and lid have blown off and over before. Currently I dump my ashes near the tree line. I usually get half a bucket full then I fill it with water and then dump it about 5 to 10 feet from the tree line. It's about 80 feet from my house. Snow comes a goes so I can't count on that homepage. It's always windy so I fear that if I don't water it down it will blow and catch something on fire. I'm a fire fighter by the way. So it makes me a bit more paranoid. I don't really have a way to spread them in my yard.
I was thinking of some kind of pit like a fire pit. I don't currently have one. Or stone/ gravel in the ground that's slightly dug down so it's harder to see and less likely to get blown out. Does anyone else have any ideas or deal with something similar? Once winter is over I can clean it out and spread the ashes across my yard.

I put my ash in the trash after it is sufficiently cooled down.
When I used to have a garden, I would till the ash in. Kept it from blowing around.Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

Others have mentioned it but I use the Powersmith ash vac. I use it to clean out my fireplace also.As for ash disposal, it goes into a trash bag (13 gallon is suffieient) and into the trash.

Scoop out what I can with a Dixie cup. Then roll it near the property line with Karen and put a leaf blower next to the lower air intake.
