No Egging but hey, the chow was still pretty good...

The family and I spent last week in Hilton Head. A bit of R&R, beach time for the kiddos and me on grill duty. Fortunately, the condo had Weber products so all was not lost. Some fresh Wahoo from the docks, EVOO, salt, pepper and lemon juice.

Wife and I vacationed at HH last summer. One of our favorite places to visit. Looks like you made the most of your trip!

Yeah, fence0407. Went to the Bluffton Oyster Company every day to see what they brought in. Wahoo, Cobia, shrimp..all super fresh and delicious.

That's awesome! We typically just made breakfast and lunches at the hotel (no grills) and then went out for dinner. Plenty of good restaurants down there, as I'm sure you encountered. Dessert was a nice cold beer (or two) on the beach. I'm not usually a fan of sitting in the hot sun for no reason (I'd prefer to be on a golf course). But, I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed my time down in HH doing absolutely nothing for hours on end in the hot sun.

We stay at a condo with a full kitchen etc.. We usually go out one night otherwise we insource all our meals. Lots of good restaurants on the island but man, are they expensive. Throw in a couple of adult bevvys and you're looking at $175 for dinner alone. Fortunately, I can keep the family happy with my cooking and save some cash too.

Yea our wallets felt the damage! We tried only eating dinner out and doing breakfast/lunch on our own. I guess one benefit (for now) is we only had 2 mouths to feed. I'm hoping to add a mini max in the near future (if they even exist...??) that would be perfect for a trip to HH.

I've got my wife, two daughters and one of them brought a friend. The mini max would be a very nice play here. I'm eyeing that as a future purchase and it would make a nice travel companion.

BTW: I found fresh Cobia fillets at Publix in Cumming (off of Keith Bridge/Browns Bridge) for $14.99 a pound. Normally $19.99/lb so a good deal on some great fish.

Let me know if you hear anything about the mini max too. That sounds like a great deal on the Cobia fillets. Might have to check our Publix off Old Milton/Haynes Bridge and see if they have the same deal. If not, maybe on my way home from playing Hampton this weekend I'll stop at yours.
