Arthur is a blow hard. You might need to shop for some new beach chairs if you don't bring them inside.______________________________________________I love lamp..

@4Runner, where at? My parents place is on 20th. My. Uncle has a place off 60th and one off of 28th in NMB.
-
That doesn't look crowded enough to be Cherry Grove. Where do you eat down there? My favorite is Collectors.XL,L,SWinston-Salem, NC

@hi54putty, I'll need to check that out. Menu looks good.
We typically pickup fish at Eugene Platts and cook it for most meals. Eating out, we hit The Shack, Benny Rappas, Old South BBQ, Mr Fish, Kings Pizza, and The Brentwood.
Everyone else, lots of rain and wind. No big deal. Thanks. -
Good spots for sure. What about Joe's Hamburger?XL,L,SWinston-Salem, NC

Haven't tried it yet. I'll add it to the list.

Rain bands all day, minor flooding, lots of wind(maybe 20-30 mph). Now it's cleared off, moons out. OBX is getting nailed, good thing the tide is moving out.

Breakfast at Tar Baby's? At least post a pic of yourself standing in front of the sign.Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here. Very Extremely Stable Genius.

How did the BBQ detour go and where did you stop off at?

@tarheelmatt, I didn't get to detour anywhere as we drove through the night so the kids would sleep during the trip. My sister came down from Columbus, OH so she went through Lexington on I74 and stopped at Honeymonks. I had her get a whole shoulder, slaw, and sauce. She put the shoulder in a cooler so it was hot when she arrived. We chopped it up and went to town on Friday night. Good stuff. Slaw was awesome, sauce didn't do much for me.
-
Lexington slaw is good stuff, my favorite. The bbq sauce(they call it dip) is very mild, mostly water, ketchup, vinegar an acquired taste. Did she pick up any of their table sauce? They sell it by the bottle and it is a little thicker, more tomato to it and more heat.

No idea. It was a quart of it. Barely had any flavor.
-
Water flavor. 100% moisture....ok, 98.67% moisture.

That was the dip. Probably more sweet than anything but yes watery.

@YemTrey, where at? My parent's place is off of 20th and my uncle has a condo at Sea Cabin on 60th. It's a world of difference from Myrtle Beach proper.

@eggcelsior Well, at least you were able to get some of the BBQ some way. In regards to the the dip, it isn't strong, just very subtle.
I think they are two parts water, one part ketchup and vinegar on their ratio. For me, I like 1 to 1 for everything with some brown sugar in it.
Nothing like being there to experinece it. They bring a bowl of dip for you to spoon over if you like.
Coarse chopped plate with slaw and fries is calling my name now! Oh and some skins!

There's a great place called Snookies in Little River right in the marina. Try the fried green tomato baguette.
-
My go to lunch at Honey Monk is chopped sandwich with a skin on it! Okay, maybe two and some fries.

@jerryp, That place looks great! I've never heard of it but I will check it out when I go back in August.
-
The only way I will go to that area is to stay in Cherry Grove and to get a round of golf in at Tidewater. We're down around 43rd/44th.Callabash Creamery, obviously in Callabash is a must stop as well. It's mandatory that my wife shops at Callahan's and then we hit Callabash Creamery. The owner of Callabash Creamery is on this site. I've talked to him a few times. I think business is so well that he rarely can get on here though.I remember many a day at the beach, then taking the short trip to Hamburger Heaven (used to be right on 9) for dinner. It's a great feeling to know I'm officially on vacation when I first walk in to Boulineaux Grocery store for groceries for the week!Enjoy!Steve

@YEMTrey, I love being able to walk down Duffy St to Boulineau's. Also, Eugene Platt's, Old South, and The Shack. I don't need to get into the car if I really don't want to.
-
@eggcelsior definitely try Joe's Hamburger..great place, fairly cheap food..for NMB anyway. I live an hour away from MB so we are down there quite often.
