I'm not going to lie on this one: if they are indeed non-poisonous, then I'd either put them in a tank and let your kids watch them, or just let them go. I'd much rather have snakes around my house eating rodents and pests, then having rodents or pests around. Not to mention that playing with snakes is a requirement for being a kid. I live in Florida, and we have black racers in our yard. My wife hates them, and to be quite honest, they freak me out sometimes, but I know they're eating the fruit rats (and I KNOW I can't stand them) and other things I don't like. Leave em be or cage 'em!Dunedin, FL

Box turtle eggs are more round and they usually bury them in mud. I still have not seen a size on these posted but I believe either snake or possibly lizard depending on size.

my guess is milk snake. with winter we had i would have thought the snake population would be down but my yard is way overpopulated with water snakes this year

I agree with yzzi, if it is a Black Snake they are harmless and eat rodents._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

**Update**
Not sure what happened. After work yesterday, I go to peek at the eggs to see what is going on. Something messed with them like someone stepped on them. The dog was up and hardly goes to that area of the yard (due to the narrowness of from house to woods (inside of the wood line is the invisible fence)).
So now I am at a real loss and a little bummed. I had intentions on watching these until hatched hopefully seeing what exactly they were.

@yzzi The Black Racers will scare the crap out of ya if ya don't see em. Fast fellas. They also kill venomous snakes too. So, I'm good with Black Racers. B-)LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Them are snake eggs. I wouldn't recommend eating them.
