I haven't tried this but at $1/lb on sale it is inline with other premium charcoals. Anyone tried it?http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/afire-koko-coconut-charcoal/?pkey=cview-all-sale&cm_src=view-all-sale||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_--_-

Hmm, I wonder if SWMBO will let me get away with another 10 bags of charcoal (for the free shipping).

I bought a box at WS a couple of weeks ago. Dammit, I paid $10! I'll probably try it this afternoon. More later.Kemah, TX

On sale in the store here in Birmingham.

They have Looftlighter on sale for $55.96, cheaper than Amz.canuckland

I doubt I'll get any based on naked whiz's review... http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpdatabase/lumpbag93.htm

When I reviewed Afire, they were deliberately shorting the boxes by about 2 pounds. This was measured by me and by a dealer. I don't know if they are still doing that, but if the box has this cardboard grid in the bottom, it is probably underweight:The Naked Whiz

it can be hit or miss on quality and ash production, so much so, I stay away......

Just lit up a small amount. Meh. It was on top of regular lump to make it go further. Didn't light that well. No improvement.Kemah, TX

The coconut briquettes burned down to a fine powder in a couple of hours, much as I'd assume tha charcoal briquettes would do. No advantage over lump that I can see.Kemah, TX

Since SWMBO was at the Lego store yesterday with the boy (I was at a horse show with the girl), and there is a W-S in the same mall I had her pick up a couple boxes. Egged some chicken legs, breasts and shrimp tonight, and truth be told , I hate this stuff!
I will put myself in the "LUCKY" column, "headquarters" for Grove charcoal is about 5 miles south of the house and I have a year round supply at $12-$15/20 lbs bag 2 blocks from the house.

I Bought this on sale and the boxes did not have cardboard on the bottom so they were full.
I just did a 6 hour pork butt on the mini and more than half left. I have another box but $3.99 is tempting. May get some more they light real quick.Seattle, WA
