Yes, now you are a pervert, and that's OK.

Anyway, Kroger has $1.99 per pound butts.  Was there, and, well, gotta cook 'em.  Question.  Is OK to toss a few in the freezer in their kryovac containers?  I'd like to load up (butcher told me they got 6 cases in yesterday, I got the last 2 - 10.75lbs and 9.62lbs) but I am looking for opinions on freezing and if so for how long (in a dedicated frost free freezer) will they last?  The "butcher" was really just a kid in a Kroger shirt.  Couldn't find an official White Coat variety, and even if I did, I trust you guys and gals more.

Thanks!

The DudeThis is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

Walter SobchakNihilists! *uck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

If you can get all the air out, like with a vacuum sealer, they can last for years in the freezer, cooked and raw (usually they're already cryovac'd when raw).   That first picture looks a lot like a couple of brisket flats.

ya, it was the angle. I always look for the biggest and most square butts in the case.  They were that, but kinda went rectangular on me when cut out of the kryovac.  So, as legend goes (like for brisket) they should fall apart when done.

Looks like I'll head back to Kroger to load up the freezer.  They were virtually air tight, so why not for Swift Premium at that price!

Yep, I think they're on sale at Kroger thru Tues. Did 2 on Friday and they were very good.
