Remove dome

I want to remove the dome on my XL, can I just remove hinge and spring bolts? Remember reading something about realignment problems, may have been if removing band?

    I disconnected the springs on my XL with the lid in the raised position, lowered it carefully (it is heavy) and then removed the four pivot bolts on the hinge.  I put on a pair of gloves and lifted it by reaching into the vent and grabbing the handle.  Worked like a charm and went back to exactly the same position it was before disassembly.  No issues like when you remove the band bolt.
    A poor widows son.

    I reassembled last night and it is mismatched by about 1/4", top shifted to rear. I'll look at it better in daylight this weekend, pivot bolts were hard to line up and shouldn't have been.
