dome alignment problem

OK, need some advice here. My large has a bit of a airgap between the top and bottom from about 9:00 to 12:00 if you are looking down at the egg. Dollar bill test works great everywhere else, but there its like tossing a hotdog down a hallway and if I'm cooking something with heavy smoke, smoke leaks out there. Egg is about 2 years old. I've disassembled and reassembled trying to tighten things correctly and adjust the way the dome sits, but no luck. Anyone have any thoughts on something I may be missing?

Oh, dome has a bit of an underbite as well.

I'm right there with you. I have the same problem. I had a slight underbite and tried to adjust it. I loosened everything, thought I had it lined up, and tightened everything back up. Not I have a slight back to front tilt with leaking from about 11am to 3pm if looking at it from above.

Based on what you said my guess is either your dome, base or both have a deformed edge. Since you have already figured it is in the 9 to 12 quarter then I recommend you take a solid straight edge made of medal and lay it say from 8 to 1 and then view the obvious shallowed dip. Again it may be the base or dome or both. You may very well have a warranty claim in your future! Keep us posted!
