Dome Thermometer Calibration for all Five Eggs

Yesterday, I decided to do a clean burn on the Mini Egg my in-laws re-gifted to me.  They no longer use it after we got them a Large.

While I was at it I thought I should calibrate the thermometer too.  And, not surprising, it was off about 15°.  I decided to do the other four Eggs too while I was at it.  Two were spot on and the other two off by only a few degrees.  Not bad considering all of the thermometers are original equipment dating back to 1999.

While I was at it I also cleaned the dials (front and back), the stem and the spring clip that holds the them in place.  I used #0000 steel wool to do it.  They now look brand new again.

Today I'll replace the gasket on the Mini with some Rutland gasket I got from RRP.  And maybe replace the one on Lily Large.  Depends on which gear I'm in later in the day.

There's something to be said about Egg Maintenance.  You just feel better cooking on one that looks brand new again, and everything works the way it's supposed to work.
