It came out pretty dang good. Only o 350 and hopefully push it out to an hour.thing different next time is that I will bring the temp down a bit. This
one cooked at 375 and was done in 40-45 min. I think next time I will
go closer to 350.

Looks great! That's the only way I cook whole chickens now. Looks like you cooked it raised direct?

Looks great. 350 or 375 makes very little difference. Most Eggs will settle in to a temp they like. 25 degrees will not make much difference.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

That's good to know. It just seemed to cook a little fast and the meat was a little bit tough right next to the bone.

It may have been a tad overcooked as you cooked it on direct heat (nothing wrong with that). Next time try it indirect. It'll take a little longer to cook.

Yours looks great. Try indirect some time at the same temp as you.Dave - Austin, TX

I'll try indirect on the next one..

Looks great! What kind of a rub did you use? I'm doing one tonight and have a couple of Dizzy Pig flavors to choose from and am thinking about throwing in some apple wood chips.

Under the skin I used a mixture of butter, garlic salt and Parmesan, on the outside I brushed a little of this same mixture and then topped it off with Hi Mountain Jerky poultry rub.
