Metal band tightening

Should I  re tighten the bands on my egg when it is hot or cold.Thanks in advance.

    I do not know for sure but I would say cold.  When things heat up they expand. If you tighten the bolts when they are hot and then they cool, they will shrink and potentially crack the egg.  I am assuming that the metal bands will expand at a greater rate than the ceramic stone.

    cold.you don't think a dealer heats it up before they assemble, do you? :) Just bend the cold bolts and you'll be fine.

    I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
