Still deciding on which size egg to go with - had a huge fire in my Weber gasser yesterday which helped me make up my mind about buying an egg
Should I go big or medium? Just the two of us but I need to be able to do a 20# Turkey[p]Thanks in advance

KY Boy, as others will tell you, if money is not the primary consideration (it's always A consideration), go with the large. It's never too large for two and always nice for a crowd.

KY Boy,[p]If you can't decide, then go with the larger of the two. I recommend the large, especially for the 20# bird. [p]Either way however, you won't be disappointed...
  • KY Boy,[p]Get the large. I don't think you can do a 20 pounder in the medium. Most people who get a medium seem to eventually want/get a large later.[p]Ryles

KY Boy,[p]If you get the large, you will be happy with it. That is what i have, and there are only two of us. Now after a year and a half, I am beginning to realize that, a large is just a lot bigger than we really need for the majority of what we cook. So a small is on the way. I thought that having something sort of portable would be nice and i think that it will take on a lot of the cooking chores. The medium may be the about right for only two people and still be able to do a smaller turkey.[p]That said, i'ld still buy a large.

    KY Boy,
There's only two of us also, but I popped for the large - but trust me it gets in your blood and then I added a small, and a year later filled in the middle with a medium. Use-wise small gets 50% large gets 40% and med with 10%. I have done a 25+ pound turkey in my large.

    KY Boy,
Like everyone else has said, you sure won't be sorry if you get a large egg. PS. I lived in Mt. Sterling for twenty years. After retiring from the KY. State Police I moved back to backwoods in Wisconsin where I grew up. Sure miss everyone there. Good egging to you. Steve

KY Boy,[p]It's just three of us and I purchased the large first to cook up my turkey at Thanksgiving. Loved it so much that I sprang for a small. I use both all the time. Go for the large first since it's your desire to cook some big things. p.s. nice article today on MNS.com about the egg and BBQ.

    KY Boy,
Where in KY? Get the large, then a small later for the ability to do multiple cooks at different temps. Trust us, you will love that large.

    KY Boy,
I would recommend a Large, but go with what you can best afford. Right now I usually only cook for my wife & I, but I occasionally (like this weekend) cook for larger groups. The large is versatile enough that it does weeknight 2-person meals easily, and I can use the same load of charcoal several times, but I can also do an 18-hour brisket and still have plenty of lump left over.
