On a spring break camping trip, my son and I caught some rainbow trout. I prepared them at the campsite on the river. The recipe I used came from the show "Primal Grill". The trout are cleaned and scaled and laid on three pieces of butcher string with a piece of prosciutto on each side of each trout. Inside each trout goes dill, lemon wedges, salt ,pepper and olive oil (salt, pepper and olive oil outside as well). They are then tied up.They go 7 min per side raised direct at 350. There is a very good dill sauce that is included in the recipe. I am not a big trout fan, but these were the best I have had. I haven't posted in some time , but I wanted to share this.

Not much can top fishing with your kid and sitting around the camp site as night falls eating trout off a paper plate. Priceless. Next time you do this, you might try this. saut'e new potatoes, bacon, sliced onions, and garlic in a Ci pan. Stuff the trout with that and wrap with bacon and lemon slices. and grill as you did. =((

Spent a week fishing on the White River in Norfork AR last month. Brought home 10 lbs of trout to grill and smoke. Will try the recipe this week. Love the Ozarks and fly fishing.1 Large BGE, 1 Mini BGE, 1 Minimax BGE, Original wife and 3 dogs living in the heart of BBQ country in Round Rock Texas.

@eggerave I definitely recommend it(the recipe). I think that area has gotten to be a much better place to fish over the years. I have fished up there since I was a kid.Maumelle, Arkansas
