  • @Papaljuice getting into this guy today. Flavor is spot on with MBCP, but with the thicker mouthfeel (stout vs Porter) and higher abv I’m impressed. May have to snag another 4 pack before they’re all gone.

I really enjoyed this one as well! Mikerphone has made some very solid stuff.

Doing a little tasting flight. Popped the synthetic cork on this Rebel Yell small batch reserve. Very nice wheater. Not on the level with some higher priced and more complex stuff, but at 20-25 bucks it’s surprisingly good and easy to drink. Plus it’s not allocated! Cheers!
I've been looking for the EH Taylor forever with no luck.   How do you like it?

It’s good. I’m not sure it’s worth the price
of admission, but it’s a nice pour. I’m not a huge fan of the eagle rare. I’ve had a couple bottles now and it just doesn’t live up to the hype IMHO. Everyone has different tastes though. I’d drink the rebel Neat over both of those others. The others would be better in a classic cocktail as they are sharper around the edges and spicier.

OK, thanks for the feedback.    I'm with you on the Eagle Rare...I have had a couple bottles and just don't enjoy it.

I've heard the EH Taylor is $$$ so for that money I'll grab others instead.

I'll check on the Rebel small batch.    Thanks!

Small batch reserve. It’s an easy drinker. Not snobby and overly complex, but very pleasant. Blows away the even Williams BIB and some of the other touted bargain pours like Larceny IMO.

Yeah it’s overpriced but I had to have one. I think I paid somewhere between 80-100 for it but I’m not really sure. I bought a couple Blantons and some bottles by Jefferson at the same time. It was an expensive trip.

Coming home from MTB ride in the TX hill country and drove by here.  Aside some issues I had parking (all my fault) great group of people and damn good beer.

    Great story behind the owners.

Side note- this wasnt my bike that got trashed that day

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

---Sounds like an expensive trip!    Couple Blantons alone is pricey.   Just swung by the local store and they had a George Remus Single Barrel @ 119 proof that I picked up.

  • The best. I’m enjoying the new price, and not driving 2 hours once a year to load up.

All out of aged bottles though, time to buy a bunch and forget about it for a tear or two.
