One balvenie double and two glen morangie doubles. Some green curry and it's a wrap. Happy Birthday Brandy!

I'm kinda disappointed. Just your standard, inoffensive bourbon barrel stout. Nowhere near what I expected based on the hype. Reminds me of Blue Mountain Dark Hollow. -

I will take them off your hands! No charge. I will even take the open one! I really like that stuff. I do believe hype ruins things for people. You hear so much about it and when you finally get around to trying it, you don't share in the enthusiasm. People's tastes are different too. I never really liked lighter beers. When I started drinking beer, I found Guiness and went from there. I can't really do allot of the IPAs.
Edit: blue mountain dark hollow added to list of beers to try.Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Kind of like music. Millions think Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist ever, even though I'm a fan of the genre I don't care for him. Doesn't mean he isn't great.
Complex beers will never hit the mark for everyone. The reason beers like KBS, Hopslam, Pliny, and Coors Light are so polarizing.
Good thing for me personally, is I like them all.

You mention Goose Island, which I love, doesn't hit all the notes for me that KBS does.
Great thing about these times, so many great beers to choose from. Pick the one you like and enjoy.Highland, MI

@Eggcelsior, based on what you’re saying here I’d bet that you would love Jackie O’s BA Dark Apparition. I too, am a bourbon county stout lover and agree with the changes over the years. I stopped buying it after the 2014 release due to this trend and the **** show that comes with trying to find it.
Having said that, the BA Dark Apparition is at least on par with the BCS. Maybe you’ve had it before and agree/disagree. Just wanted to put it out there is it’s available in my area and much, much easier to get than BCS.

Doing the comparison test now. 3 years aging does this beer wonders. A little too sweet but nice roasty/coffee nose with hints of chocolate, good oaky mouth feel with a bourbon-y, vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar middle(heavy on the sugar) and a nice mocha finish. I'm thinking the KBS should age too, so I'm going to try to find another. -
Brombeere, a blackberry gose from Odell. Needed more fruit flavor, tartness and saltiness IMO. Wouldn't really call it a gose.

There is another forum topic running (shall remain unmentioned here but may have a political slant fired up by someone who resides in the GWN ) but all are seeking life's eternal Kool-Aid and on a Friday...Like that's gonna happen. I would say "keep Drinkin' heavily."Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
