Royal Oak red bag failure

Any one having issues with the red bag RO comes in falling apart? Local Home Depot recently started selling it, and since I've blown through my 250 plus pound stash of winter lump (Wegman's. WGWW, ForestLumps), I've been picking up a few bags. Every week when I look, there are multiple bags torn open and taped, or just torn open and spilling lump. Found an intact bag last week and brought it home. As I was carrying from the shed to the patio, it just tore open, in the middle of the bag. Second time out of three bags I've used that has happened. Is it the bag, or the way it is being handled at Home Depot at issue? None of their other lump or briquettes seem to have any issue with broken bags.

I haven't had an issue yet. I bought 6 bags in early winter and they were fine. Though it was kind of the off season and the pallet was on the highest shelf, out of the way of traffic and abuse.Madison, CTLBGE June 2013.

Sounds like their bags have been wet (stored outside) or in very high humidity. Or mishandled. Probably a feature of your local Home Depot. Wetted paper tears easier than dry, even after it's dried.

Good news is the lump is fine. Doesn't look like its been crushed, nice sized pieces, lights and burns just fine.

I just got my first bag from HD last week - I noticed a few bags had small holes so I dug to find one that didn't. I imagine it just has to do with how each store handles them.Large - Mini - Blackstone 17", 28", 36"

I have only got a few at the depot and no problem for me.

I just started buying the Big bag at home Depot and didn't see any tore up ones. And the bags have some good sized chunks.2-XLs ,MM,blackstone,Ooni koda 16,R&V works 8.5 gallon fryer, express smoker and 40" smoking cajun
