Would you mind telling us who held the contest? Diehard eggers would love to enter these contests as it amazes me of the people who win eggs but have no interest in keeping them! Thanks and BTW someone will be along to take it off your hands.

He is in Chicago Craig. You are like me. You got excited about the possibility of a good deal and overlooked that.

I am thinking about adding another large and table.

Teddy, I'm assuming since it is unopened and from a contest it comes with a VALID warranty. This will change the price you get, but what I'd do is call a Chicago dealer and get a quote as an idea what they cost.

Actually that warranty bridge has been crossed several times before and it is best that the prospective buyer contacts Atlanta and walks through the registration. The seller should be able to provide legit paperwork of some sort supporting their winning it.

Actually I won a putter and some golf video game and a subscription to there magazine. I looked into what its all worth and I'm sure you all know as well. As far as the warranty I'm assuming there are registration papers but like I said I have not opened anything.

teddymac42 - perhaps this will help you understand why the registration issue is so important and plays a major part in determining your eventual selling price of a new egg. When properly registered to the first time buyer they receive a life time warranty on many critical ceramic parts. Without that warranty then the out of pocket replacement costs are hefty for the parts that are prone to break. I just thought you ought to know why it's such a big deal to a buyer.

teddymac42, you really want to contact bge and make sure that new egg comes with a warranty to the new buyer. if i were buying it new from you and it came with no warranty i would be wanting 300 dollars off the price, replacement parts for these are not cheap

ok, I called BGE and the warranty does not transfer, they can trace back to me as the original owner but then again it sounds like you fellas already knew that. I also called local dealer and got what the whole package is worth($1250). Make an offer if you like, need to pick it up and I do not want to seperate any thing.

I don't think I have registered my Egg.  Can I still do it if I bought it over two years ago?

This has never made sense to me - I can buy someone an Egg and have the warranty transfer to them no problem.  If it's new in the box, you should be able to "gift" it to someone as well.

Same as when you "win" a car. It's a used car even if you never drive it a mile. It's been registered in his name already. Someone "gifted" it to him to start with.

As long as you have your receipt, you are fine.  You might want to go online and register it anyway, but it shouldn't be required.
