Greetings -
I have had my BGE since late September and have been really loving it. Now the the weather has gotten nicer all of our friends are wanting to come over for a demonstration cook/celebration. This will be my first big cook for others (8-10 people including us) and I am wondering if anyone is willing to share a multiple course menu that is prepared on the Egg? I was hoping that I wouldn't have to pick blindly from the assorted recipe forums and hope for the best. My initial thought is that it should start with a low temp item and then work it up from there? Any suggestions or links are appreciated.
Cheers!

My favorite egg items are some of the simplest:
pulled pork (butt)
spatch chicken
perfectly seared steak (or better, rib roast, tri tip or similar)
wings
Most of the other side menu items (chili, beans, etc) will almost require another egg.
And of course grilled veggies (particlularly salad with grilled romaine)

Not sure about multiple course, but I've cooked for groups of 10-16 before and baby backs are always a crowd pleaser as well as pork shoulder. Did about six pounds of beef fajitas for eight adults and five kids last weekend and they went over great. But I've got a butcher shop not far from me who has excellent hanger steak which I've found is far better than skirt.

Bake a cake in advance."You did that on the GRILL?!!!"
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Might be cool to do pulled pork that is ready right as they arrive and serve it on Hawaiian roles as sliders (I like pickled red onion on it too) then take the remaining pork and make BBQ pizza as the main course. I haven't done too many desserts but I like grilled peaches with honey and vanilla ice cream, or take a banana, split part of the skin and stuff it with choc chips and mini marshmallows. Wrap the whole think in foil and throw on the egg until the nana is basically pudding. It's awesome!

Do a picnic shoulder and only cook it to 185 and slice it. Little more of a presentation than pulled pork. Also the picnic is a little sweeter like ham almost. ABTs are a winner if they are ok with a little heat. Grilled asparagus is simple and really good. There are some really good smores ideas on the forum. We do smores sandwiches at the fests and they always have a line of people waiting for them. We use nutella, marshmellow, crushes graham cracker then butter the outsides of the bread and grill raised direct.

Pulled pork or faux coshon de lait
serve the coshon with red wine vinegar slaw on hoagies/rolls
Ribs
Finish and ftc.. multiple apps
Pigshots
Abt
Shrimp skewers
Maybe a cobbler or stuffed pears for dessertGreen egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN -
I have done ABT's, then 2 spatched chickens and while the chickens are resting put on cedar plank salmon and pineapple. Takes about 2.25hours for the cook(45 mins. before the party starts and 1 1/2 hour once the party starts). The egg set up is the same for the chicken and salmon, raised direct, 375-400* dome temp. Have the ABT's ready to come off when your party starts, enjoy those while the chickens are cooking.

Thanks to all for the suggestions, one question (since I am still a bit of a Newbie): ABT stands for...?

ABT stands for Atomic Bacon Turds. Otherwise known as jalepenos, stuffed with cream cheese and whatever else you like, then wrapped in a half slice of bacon. Cooked on the egg for about 45 minutes @ 400 and raise/not raised , direct/indirect.Simi Valley, California

Try Chipotle cream cheese in the ABTs. It is new from Philadelphia Cream cheese and I liked it better than the regular cream cheese.

I have always heard atomic buffalo turd, which would make sense based on which animal pooped out the turd, although bacon turd makes more sense according to what it's made out of. hmm...In Manchester, TNVol For Life! -
IMHO make what you enjoy cooking, and what your family enjoys eating. Do that and perhaps challenge yourself with one thing. When I have cooked show off style for a crowd, I almost always say- next time, remember to keep it simple! On that note- a kebab party can be fun, or cooking on skewers. I particularly love to put food on edible skewers as well- Shrimp on rosemary, Marinated thin cut beef on green onion skewer, etc-Proud resident of Missoula, MThttps://www.facebook.com/GrillingMontanahttp://grillingmontana.com

As suggested above, pre cook a cake (Griffins Pineapple Upside down Cake is a winner). Then do a turbo pork butt for pulled pork. Finish it early and FTC. When the guests show up, throw on some appetizers. Shrimp, pineapple wrapped in bacon. Maybe a flatbread pizza app. Then pull the pork out of the cooler and finish with the cake.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

Cakes and cobblers have a big wow factor. Most peolple are impressed you can bake desserts with the egg.
Same thing with high heat pizzas and steaks. Be sure to tell the guests you seared the steaks at 700°. They'll love it.Ball Ground, GA

ABTs, spatchcocked chickens and SMORES for dessert. When they see you put the smores on they'll think you are crazy - until they take the first bite!
