Another Rutland Gasket Question

That rope looking thing is the gasket and the silicone is the "glue"? I just want to make sure I am all set for the weekend since I have company coming over and my fiance has bragged about my cooking.

While it says 95-6 what is pictured and described is the rope - not the flat braided gasket. I would never recommend using the rope since it will rub against itself and cause failure in short order. As for the Permatex, yes, that is the correct product. BTW the Permatex needs 24 hours to cure!
