  • Why?  It seems to me that using a thermometer for something that you know is done based on the feel is just silly, especially when there are no food safety issues.

    That's interesting and good to know.  My wife thinks I'm crazy but I love using the Thermapen on everyday cooks that don't require precise finishing temps.  I keep a chart in the kitchen for reference.  Guess it's one of the few things in life I'm a bit OCD about.
