Appetizers?

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
I talked my brother-in-law into purchasing an egg recently (which wsn't too hard after I prepared him a few meals on the egg). Anyway, he got his egg last week and he wants to use it tomorrow. I am looking for a good appetizer to prepare. Any ideas? I have done ABTs but thought I would try something different this time. Anyone have any good ideas? I think we are having steak for the main course.[p]Thanks for the input!

Becks in MN, Here is an oldie, but goodie.[p]Rumaki[p]12 slices bacon, halved crosswise
    12 ounces chicken livers, halved
    12 whole water chestnuts, halved[p]Marinade:
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    1 teaspoon fresh minced ginger
    2 tablespoons dry sherry
1 teaspoon sugar[p]The Rumaki Recipe begins with the marinade: Combine soy sauce, ginger, sherry and sugar in a small bowl. Add the chicken livers and water chestnut pieces and marinate them in the refrigerator for ½ hour.[p]Place 1 chicken liver piece and 1 chestnut piece in the center of each bacon-half, wrap, and secure with a toothpick. Place the Rumaki on a broiler pan or shallow baking pan and broil, about 5 or 6 inches from the heat, until the bacon is crisp, about 10 to 15 minutes. Or, you may bake the appetizers in a 375° oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 24 appetizers.[p]Either way can be done in the egg.[p]CB[p]

Becks in MN,[p]I'm doing proscuitto wrapped sea scallops this evening. I'll let you know how they turn out. The Rumaki is a great idea too.[p]GrillMeister

Becks in MN, though Vidalia pie sounds like dessert it can be a wonderful front end snack as well - especially with beef. Her's the one I did this week myself.

    Becks in MN,
We have been turned on to wings lately... They are SO simple.[p]Preheat egg to 275. Run frozen wings under water to take frost off. Sprinkle with favorite rub. Toss on heated egg direct. Cook until done (about 1 hr) turning every 15 minutes, or so.[p]Banker John

Chrispy Bob,[p]God bless you! I love Rumaki! That's my uncle folks! [p]Wish I could have grilled some of these at the Eggfest - sounds like it was quite a fun time this year...[p]Woo and I have been known to grill up a whole mess of these to munch on!
Could really use a plate of these - hotel food isn't cutting it these days.[p]Cheers,
