Finally some shade for my eggs!!! (pics)
Since we moved to this house two years ago, my egg table has been out in the merciless sun and rain. I finally got around to doing something about it.
Posts up, then beams, rafters, roof panels and wind/privacy screen. Viola!
Only took me six months to finish. Now some new patio furniture and we will be good to go.

Very nice! That's a beautiful spot to be egging. Was the concrete patio already in place? Did you have to dig holes through it to erect the posts?#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

@caliking: Yes the concrete patio was there when we bought the house. Nice selling point as far as I was concerned. 10 inch diameter holes were cut in the concrete with a diamond core driller for the post locations.
@henapple: Yes it is rain proof. I used Suntuf roofing panels to cover the structure. Chose hunter green panels to match the eggs. They only let in about 5 percent of the sunlight.
@Aquacop: All together around 5,000 bucks. It is Con Heart Redwood with SuperDeck redwood stain applied everywhere. My wife did most of the staining, bless her heart!

Your house looks very similar to mine. We had to rebuild after a fire and I kept the upper windows short so I could throw a roof down overtop. The architect messed up and we needed the house done but I still have designs on doing it.
My deck is stamped concrete and I have pex tube run in it so it would be heated by the boiler. The plan was to make a greenhouse area with screened windows for the summer.

Very nice but I would appreciate it everyone would not post pictures with no snow or below zero until Thursday when the temp here is 20. Thanks in advance.

@tjosborne Yes we did it ourselves. My wife helped me set the posts and did most of the staining and some detail work with the router. I did the rest. For a while I didn't think it was ever going to be finished. We started it back in August and we finished it last week. Later on I want to install some LED lighting and we need new patio furniture too. Overall it was fun to do though. This was the fourth one I have built and at my age, it just may be my last!

@lilwooty - thanks for the info. I had a flagstone patio put in over the summer, but held off on building a pergola or cover since we have nice shade from trees over the patio. But that doesn't provide shelter from rain. I may thing about adding cover later on.That's a reeaaalllly nice egging spot. Wow @lilwooty that's a great setup! What part of Michigan are you located in?

@Browninggold Michigan? I am a Northern California boy. No snow for me. And the way it has been going since last year, no rain either! Salmon fishing is going to be pathetic this year.
