I never use the top vent, just control everything at the bottom on my small BGE. Once i lay the raw chicken or meat on the grid, I stick them here to let the heat kill the bacteria for a couple of minutes. Seems okay here., but does anyone else do this?

I have before. I even stick the tongs through the grid for 30 seconds. As long as the temp is high enough, it'll sanitize pretty quickly.

@henapple now you can be the inventor of "Tongalactics" Start by cutting the fingers out of the gloves and fitting them over your tongs. I just want 10% after you take this to market please. The prophylactic for your tongs.....

When it comes to those I'm too selfish. It said "ribbed for her pleasure" so I turned it inside out. Also, don't use the "desensitized" kind for stuffing sausage...couldn't feel anything for hours.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN
