CyberQ Infrastructure Problem
Comments
-
@theshaytoon I have two different networks in my house and was on the wrong one. I'm back on infrastructure mode now."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
good.the way we have setup the guru, you should not have any problem with it. Most devices use DHCP to get their network settings, but we have actually "hard" coded the settings into the cyberQ.as long as no other device tries to use the ip address that you gave to the cyberQ, you should be OK.
-
TheShaytoon said:sorry @BobsBGE , I didn't notice your posts...what is your Iphone ip address?it should be something like 192.168.1.??? or 192.168.0.???
My ip address is 192.168.1.106 but I don't want to mess you up trying to get yours hooked up
Fayetteville, Ga -
@theshaytoonI've accessed the router page and am looking at the firewall section. See pictures below. There are three pictures representing the entire page."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
@bobsbge Sounds like your only a step or two behind me. I'm fine with it if its ok with @theshaytoon"This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell

I have a netgear router and I think it may be the problem. My guru has been working fine until lately so I switched back to ad hoc mode. I'll come back later to see how yours has been resolved rather than bother both you and theshaytoon
Fayetteville, Ga -
I am fine with it.... we can do this together.@bobsbge use 192.168.199 as your static IP address, and fill in the form with the settings from your iphone.@GoodTimes is one of the choices on the application list http ?
-
@theyshaytoon I've got one that says "HTTPS Server""This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
hmmmmnot one that says http server....Click on the User Defined. and post the screen pic
-
Here it is my man."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
type in the what I have filled in....and click add to list.
-
now go back to the last page we where at,type in the CyberQ ip, conned it to the cyber Q app, and save!that should do it.take your iphone off wifi.open up safari on the iphone and type in your public IP address in the address bar!BAM! you should be able to go anywhere and control your cyberQ.
-
Looks like I got it added."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
did you see my last post? above your last post??? Is it working?
-
@theshaytoon I must not have clicked something. When I put in my public ip address it just times out on my iPhone."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
@theshaytoon I went back and looked at what I had done, and some how it assigned my wife's iPhone. See below."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
I've definitely had to bail out and use ad hoc for a cook tonight. Hopefully you, GoodTimes, can get it straightened out and with TheShaytoon's help I know you will. Thanks.

@bobsbge and at @theshaytoon It is only right that I give back on this. As long as my wife dosnt kill me for playing with this thing anymore, I'm going to try and type up a really "Dummy Proof" way to do this as best I can. That way as more people use it maybe they can amend the document for their particular hardware/software."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
so you are all good @GoodTimes?next lesson will consist of having a domain name point to your cyberQ...for example mine is http://www.fs5959.com I am not cooking but you can see the room temperature!BTW...anyone with your public IP address can now access your cyberQ. you can put a username and password on it in the WiFi section.HTTP UsernameHTTP PasswordDon't forget them...the only way to recover them is to do a reset, and start from scratch.
-
@theshaytoon Check my previous post. Somehow this thing is connected to my wife's iPhone. It won't access from outside yet. I think I must have clicked/not clicked one little thing."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
@theshaytoon That's awesome how you can just hit the link and it takes you there. I'm assuming that you have the password turned off?"This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
oh, what is connected to your wife's iPhone? the cyber Q?Go back and delete the "rule" that connectst the cyberQ to the iphone, and start from here...put in the cyberQ ip address you made up, and link it to the cyberQ app that you created...
-
I do have the password and the username turned off so that you can see what can be done....and I have it so that it TXT messages my phone with alerts
-
@theyshaytoon I have no idea what's going on now. I can't get my wife's iPhone off and when I put the made up Guru IP Address in the choose box it never adds it to the list of computers that can have the application added to it."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
-
there has to be a place to delete the rule linking the phone to the cyberQ app you made...you might try deleting the app altogether.
-
make sure the cyberQ is on and functioning....also here is att's instructions...
-
@theshaytoon it appears that where things are going awry is when I try to add the Cyber Q as a computer. I put the ip address in, but it dosnt actually add it. It sees my iPhones, iPads and all that stuff but not my cyber q."This is America Jack!" Cleo McDowell
