partyq temp issue

I used my partyq for the first time. Had a problem with the temp readings. Set up my maverick close to the partyq temp probe. Didn't take long to get dialed in within 2 or 3 degrees of each other. However, once the fan started to kick in the temp on the partyq stayed much lower tthan the maverick. I'm talking 40 degrees difference. That caused the fan to continue to run. I moved the temp probe around but couldn't solve it. The maverick and dome temps were showing the normal amount of variance so I know the mav was accurate.
Any advice? I'm going to calibrate the partyq but I don't think that's it since they held the same temp for an hour.

Not sure about the temp difference, but with my PartyQ, I try to get the temp close to my desired cook temp before adding the Q for control.

Good with what @smbishop (happy (New Year, Scott from PNW) says. It's best to get teh egg temp real close to the cooking temp before hooking up the PartyQ

Agree, you want to dial in the egg temp before attaching the PartyQ from my limited experience with it. I'm told the larger blower of the DigiQ/CyberQ allows you to attach it at the start and let it dial in the temp for you.They/Them
