Can it be too cold to smoke?

I'm hoping the answer will be, "no problem," but I just want to make sure. I'm dying to try out my new DO in my BGE, but Chicago is due to have some more sub-zero weather soon. Should I worry about heating up the BGE when it's that cold out? Granted, the experience will be lacking since I can't be out there with it, but I'm still looking forward to it. Any words of wisdom or encouragement will be welcomed.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey-here's something that works for me when shutting down after a cold weather cook-I place aluminum foil on the lower gasket surface for most of the circumference-(just slightly wider than the gasket width) then shut the dome.  Eliminates the "BGE frozen shut drill" next time I use it.  FWIW-

I'm in Chicago as well (Lakeview) and have been on the egg over the last two weeks when the temps dropped.  Supposed to warm up this weekend.

And then the bottom falls out of the thermometer next week.  We should try to do a small informal Chicago Eggfest this spring.  Maybe talk to the folks at the Chopping Block about it.

I live on the south shore of Long Island about 2 miles from the water and trust me it gets cold  and my Eggs are almost always going ,to cold to smoke I don't think so as long as you can handle it the Egg can handle it !!
