So after the recent Lowes lump blow up I just had to post my "deal of a lifetime" experience today. They had a hot water tank for $1199 and had not removed an expired rebate voucher from the shelf which made it $799.00.

They honored the price without me even asking.

I could tell you stories from the inside :-)   I worked there 8 months in between jobs.  My favorite is about our kitchen table.  Returns that were not suitable for resale went into a corner in the back, to be processed back to the manufacturer and eventually put in the dumpster.  One time they had a great looking country kitchen looking table top sitting there with no legs.  Employees were allowed to buy these items at a negotiated price.  I told the manager I wanted the table for $1.00, and he sold it for me.  I called customer service for the manufacturer and explained how I got the the table top, and wanted to buy the legs.  They said no problem, no cost we'll send you legs.  I got a great table for $1.00 and have had it now for 12 years.  Sitting in my kitchen nook right now.
