  • Hey
Is the Egg Fest really worth the almost 5 hr drive or is there one closer to Winston Salem that I don't know about and how does the Demo Eggs work? Im thinking about going and really want to pick up a Mini Demo while I'm there. There site says they will up date when the have more info. Do I have to check every day or is there a sing up sheet or someone I can call to reserve one?
    Thanks for your help.

Hi Jeff, I'm pretty prejudiced regarding the quality of this eggfest. However, I will say I've been to about 30 eggfests across the country in the last 9-10 years and I've never seen one of them with a venue anywhere close to what you'll find here. I hope some of those that have been will chime in, but, I will tell you the overwhelming consensus is "this is the best eggfest they've ever been to".......We can't give a final price on the eggs until late February when BGE announces their new prices for the upcoming year. I will tell you the prices on all the eggs will be very competitive, and you get a free ticket to the eggfest (I'm most likely going to change that to two free tickets for egg buyers......a $40 value). Even if you decide to buy elsewhere, believe me when I tell you it's well worth the drive to attend this one.........
  • OK OK !!! You have convinced me to sign up but I'm still a little confused about the process of reserving an egg for purchase. Is it more of a drawing or is it more of a first come first serve?
    Thanks for your help Egret!!

The new egg buyers call Brenda McKinney at the Hiawassee Hardware in Hiawassee at 706-896-3617. We don't have all the info up yet but we will soon. All the eggs are pre-purchased through Brenda and the cooks will use them on the day of the fest, thus the big discount. You need to get your egg reserved a couple of weeks before the fest when the final order is placed with the distributor. All the eggs, by the way, are sold per your custom order and will include any or all the accessories you want. All the accessories are available the day of the fest at a very nice discount as well.

My apologizes if I failed to get back with you. Believe me, if I didn't get back with you in a very timely manner, I either didn't get the message or it was lost somewhere. I do make it a top priority to give timely responses to any and all questions. Please see my response to Jeff's post for more information. We'll have a lot more info up before year's end.
