So I've got a pecan tree in my yard that keeps dropping limbs in my yard. Could I use these branches for smoking?

I have several friends with mature pecan trees.  Anytime they have limbs that fall, they save them for me.  I cut them into chunks and use them for smoking.

You could ship it to me and I'll dispose of it. yes, use it, I really like pecan, especially for poultry.

Thanks guys. About how long should I let them sit and dry? I'm fairly new to this whole thing so any help is appreciated.

Use it all the time, I got territorial when I saw a guy stop and start taking limbs and pecans out of my yard.

Don't worry about letting them sit. My mother in law brings me the same "droppings" and they go right in for a smoke.

Has anyone used pecan shells? If so how did it turn out? I have a neighbor that gave me 5 gallons of shells.
