Turkey Breast Cooking Time
New guy here! Planning on cooking a brined 8.5lb breast Thur morning. Plans are to go indirect at approximately 350 to internal temp of 165. Any idea on the approximate cook time? Your help is much appreciated!

Much thanks, I will give it a shot and see what happens.

After posting the above question, I found in the BGE cookbook that an 8lb breast will take 2.5 - 3 hours at 350. The 8.5 breast took 3 hours exactly.XL BGE and L BGE

While it's great you found a good estimate out there. Please note that every cut of protein is different. Read all the turkey posts and you'll see different times ffor every bird. My point is, cook to temp and not to time. Estimates are great...but lots of peeps have ruined expensive meat following a estimated cook time.
Tag team a maverick and a thermapen and get perfect results every time.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -
I agree with everything you stated. Was looking for a go by time estimate since it was the first breast to attempt and did not want throw the wife off on the rest of the meal.
Everything worked out.

Let me ask you guys this since tomorrow I am cooking a turkey breast.
I have a maverick and a good thermometer and I know 165 for poultry but would I want to pull it a bit early so it actually hits the 165 while resting?
My breast is a 5 pounder if that helps you at all.Nowhere Indiana -
I spatche'd a 7 pounder and removed the breast bone and split in half and cooked raised direct at 375 and it only took 75 minutes to get to 162/165.
It was Great!Charlotte, Michigan XL BGE -
