Since getting my new toy(R1200GS) and not grilling much due to weather, my XLBGE came back with a vengeance. After doing a clean burn a few days ago and leaving the egg ready to grill. Last night did my first Carne Asada in a few months. Lit the egg, put some potatoes and onions on the coals, prepared some Queso Flameado with Chorizo. After grilling some Top Sirloin with a nice sear marks, got everything off the grill and shut the egg down. When I went in the house to start dinner, I see the Queso Flameado has not been melted, so i run back to the egg lift the ceramic cap and open the egg fast! So you guessed right, a HUGHE FIREBALL erupted. Having my left hand on the egg handle and the Queso Flameado on the right on a Pyrex, I just could not let go of either one without breaking them. So like the man I am, I bit my lip and rided it out. To say the least I'am not a hairy type of guy, so not much lost, but my pride! I knew it had to happen some day, but since i neglected the egg for a few months, she came back with a vengeance! Lesson learned, do not neglect your EGG!!!
