Rubs--try before you buy

I stopped at a local grill store today. Haven't been there for a long time (don't know why, the place is awesome) and I saw this rack of all the rubs they carry, including all the dizzy pig rubs, where you can sniff them out before buying. Genuius. Pretty excited to go back more often now.

Not genius.  Every spice store I know (Penzey's, Savory) has sample bottles for smelling and tasting.  It's standard in the industry.

I was thinking he was at a BBQ store. None of them here do that .

Not in the bbq industry though? The only place I've been to that had samples of rubs and sauces was The Kansas City Barbecue Store. Don't know why more places don't do this.

This is strictly a bbq/grill store. Never been to a penzey's or savory, so this is the only place I've seen do this.

@yzzi That's smart of them to do that.  I was just pointing out that it is a standard practice for spice stores.

Casual Image in ATL is an outdoor furniture, gas log, BGE dealer and they do it.
