Ok. Went and scoped it out but need some guidance from some wiser eggheads. Unsure of the age but it does have the dimple finish and the glazed paint. The DFMT is actually a single function with the spinning top but not the slide. Firebox and ring are intact and an older nest is included. The key is the bands need replacing as it has the older hinge in the side type bands and both hinges are broken. Any idea what my investment in a new set of bands will run? Also any idea on the age? Thanks

You don't need the DFMT. If its broken and  you want it for low temp cooks, consider the ss cap from smokeware (formerly eggware). About $40 I believe. It works as a damper at the end of a cook as well as a rain cap. Replaces both the ceramic cap and the DFMT. 

Don't know about the bands and hinges.

Spoke with Dwayne at the Mothership (who was quite helpful by the way)    Date of birth on the egg is between 1995 and 1998 based on the single function metal top.   The current medium bands will work and are approx $105 plus shipping.    It is ceramic and not clay.  I am going to pass on it based on the cost of repairs and I really dont need it, but figured if it was a screaming deal I would get it.   If anyone is in middle Georgia who wants it, shoot me a pm and I will share the seller's number with you.
