Pot Roast

Put a pot roast on about an hour ago, figured I better get a pic before I started loosing light. First day of the fall the temperature barely got to fifty so comfort food here I come.

Looks good - one of my favorite cooks. I use a recipe from the other forum - "Dutch Oven Pot Roast".

If it's the one that Grandpa's Grub submitted that's the same one that I'm using. Smells fantastic. When you do it when the meat reaches 210* does it stay on an additional hour? The wording in the recipe was a little strange when I was reading it on my phone.

Love a cook like this... Well done.

Waiting for fall... It's been like the middle of August here. AC has been cranked since Thursday.

Yeah @hapster this has been the first true cool day, AC was going yesterday even.  It will be nice not to have a three digit electric bill next month.

Roast is @ 200* going to run to the store to grab some beer and a couple of sticks and see how this bad boy turns out.

Yeah, was really going to slice this for sandwiches but it just fell apart when I lifted it. Oh well.

Potatoes and carrots and onions melted together.

And the wife helped me make gravy out of the drippings.

Thanks @MrCookingNurse and @hapster, It was a cook I wanted to do for so long and when it was 50 degrees when I left work this afternoon I said to my wife that is what I'm going to do.  She still made a pot of chili just in case I screwed it up, but I think it turned out pretty good.

Tell the wife to put that chili in the freezer for a few months.

Probably won't survive a few months because I use her chili in my cheese dip for football weekends but I appreciate it.
