Our Big Green Egg competition team (Smitty's Smoke Patrol) had a new forum member join the cook team this weekend....Chris Black (BlackBadger) from SoCal came up to lend a hand. We were able to pull a 1st place in Pork and finished off our competition season with a 6th place overall in this event. Thanks to all who came out to offer help with our cooking hobby....we do appreciate it. -Smitty

Thanks @Black_Badger for making the trip from So Cal to join us for the competition! You were a big help! 6th out of 39 teams was pretty respectable.

@SoCalWJS - standings haven't been updated yet it looks like we should move up to around 28th in the state overall and possibly tied for 6th in porkXL, Large, Small, Mini Eggs, M&M BBQ Texas Smoke King, Shirley Fabrication 24x36 Patio, Humphrey's Weekender, Karubecue C-60, MAK 1-Star General, Hasty Bake Gourmet, Santa Maria Grill, Webers: 14" WSM, 22.5" OTG, 22.5" Kettle Premium, WGA Charcoal

Huge thanks to @SMITTYtheSMOKER and @R2Egg2Q, this was my first time cooking as part of a KCBS event and it was incredibly fun, challenging, exciting, and rewarding. Both of these guys are remarkably knowledgeable and friendly. It was a great experience and I would love to have the chance to do it again in the future.I had a photo to post but it's really similar to the one Smitty posted above.Cheers all -B_BFinally back in the Badger State!
