First Butt, first overnight and thundershowers

After doing the research and trolling around I decided to go full in. First butt and first overnight at the same time. After fighting with thunderstorms finally got the egg stable at 250 around 11pm last night. Put the 9 pounder on and got re-stablized. Checked it a few times before going to bed at 1am. I actually slept the whole night without getting up to check. Woke up this morning at 7am to more thundershowers. The Egg maintained 250 all night and is still going. I guess my settings were good. Butt's around 195 now. Will post more photos as it finishes.

Temp check 11:30 am. 200 and probe seems to go in smooth. Will pull soon.

Congrats, seems like everything came off very well. The Egg isn't perfect about holding a temperature, but so often it locks right in. And weather, pfft!

I bought a weed burner that will use MapPro gas just because lighting the Egg in a thunderstorm can be a hassle. W. a burner, takes about a minute to get the lump lit.

Try not to go into a feeding frenzy as you pull the meat.

Here's the butt after the pull. FTC for 5 hours till dinner still hot and very juicy!

Tjcoley, We're in NH. Wild weather last night and today. 

mgoblue, I used Wicked Good  weekend warrior blend. Still had a lot left after 13 hours. now I'm sure I can go much longer. Kind of mixed about the WW blend been getting a lot of small pieces and dust in the last couple of bags. Also heard ACE may not be carrying it anymore. They had the BGE and I haven't tried it. I think maybe I will.
