Cut in half or not?
I've got 2 12lb butts going in tomorow. Should I cut them in half or leave as-is?
reasons to cut:
more bark
cook faster (not really an issue as I have kept fires going for 24+ hours)
Reasons not to cut:
Big hunks of meat look cool.
Any help filling in the list would be greatly appreciated.

For me it all comes down to timing. It is usually easiest for me to start a cook at 9pm after everyone is in bed. if I was cooking dinner I'd leave them whole. If I was cooking lunch I'd cut them in half.
