Hi EGGheads!

We have a home in North Scottsdale and are there every month or so for a long week. We'll be moving permanently early next year and once moved, we're getting a Large BGE. I'm so excited!! I've looked at them and talked to people giving demonstrations for 3 years now. I have more questions and would like to become involved with any people that may get together to discuss, cook, brag, whatever, if it's about BGEs. I'm a way more serious cook than most people I know and appreciate the fine details that go into cooking and grilling - I'm not an "open a can of soup and mix it in" type of cook. If there are any of you in the North Scottsdale/Cake Creek area, I'd really like to meet and chat.

I hope this is not too snobby, but I cannot eat beef from a supermarket unless it's aged. I can taste the gas packing and I can taste that the meat isn't aged and I can REALLY smell it. So far, I've bought and grilled steaks on a gass grill :-(  at AJ's and at a meat market called "The Bull Market". I'm hoping to learn the good places to get good beef. I'm a South Dakota girl and grew up on good beef!! I like loin cuts of pork as well as ribs and love chicken. I hope to learn to grill steaks on a BGE - I'm hoping it can be done! I want to smoke cheese and anything else smokeable!!

OK, I'm sure this is way too much information for all of you.
