Fantastic design and choice of materials. Absolutely gorgeous! May I ask what is the distance between the first and second levels? I am in the process of building my table and comparing various designs to BGE's suggested measurement of 15 inches. Your almost flush design looks great! Many thanks.

Very nice, any chance of getting some plans?

Very nice table.I see you've already sealed it and it looks good. For others with a similar question, I'd melt food safe bees wax 1/3 (amazon) into foodsafe mineral oil 2/3 (walmart). Apply hot and buff off with a terrycloth. This is the technique I've learned to use on all my butcher block. The oil keeps the wood from splitting and the wax seals it. This does a great job for indoor - I don't see why it wouldn't work for outdoor. Probably repeat each spring and fall for an outdoor table.Phoenix

Nice Table! How has the Top held up, any problems? Do you have any photos of build process, I'm designing my table and looking for advise and input. Mine will be on a covered deck, and I will put cover over table when not in use. Now that you've had the table a while, are there any changes you would make next time?
Thanks -
Awesome work, I really wanted a butcher block in cherry wood for mine but was concerned about the outdoors. Not sure where you are located but what gave you the comfort level of doing it out of butcher block.

Great job! Like the storage too

How has this table fared over a couple of years with such a small gap betwixt the table and egg?

Very nice!!!

great looking table I used cedar for my table and concrete for the top going with some clear to seal up the cedar to keep the red color. How do you see the cedar holding up for the top it seems like its a awfully soft wood for that. Once agian its an great looking tablehello all I live in KY Bourbon country so I love my makers, love my egg but still love my wife the most

I found your pics as I was scouring the net looking for tables. I am looking to build something similar for myself expect I want to have two eggs on it. How is the table holding up? Any regrets and any tips for how you built this?

nice..really nice.. one thing I wish I had on my set-up is a sinktop..a stainless steel sinktop would make your set-up even more perfectLBGE with 76" Challenger Cooking Island

Looks great man!!

Just seal it. Here's a little BBQ cart I made from cedar scraps. It's sealed with Thompson's Water Seal. This was a few years ago. It's all weathered gray now, like all cedar gets over time. It still works just fine though.
