Caster Questions

Hi,

Just finished the frame for my new LBGE ("Naked Whiz" plans - white oak).  Frankly, the 2.5" casters are wimpy and I plan to change them out.

Since I'll be rolling over textured concrete, I'd like to use gray rubber wheels vs the black hard rubber but I'm concerned about "flat spots" developing during storage.  Anyone with experience using the softer rubber?

Any other wheel material suggestions for uneven concrete / expansion joints?

Also considering using stem casters (vs plate mount) by drilling the stem hole into the bottom of the 2x4's and letting the weight of the table keep them place.  Any comments?

Thanks...

Rick.

PS sorry about the poor pic quality, its late...
