I plan to do a low and slow cook on a pork butt this weekend for the first time. What is good to serve on the side, hot vegetables and potatoes, or cold salads and a selection of breads. I hope to serve for 10 people for dinner

  • I love "Southern Caviar"...easy and tasty. And I make it with butts and ribs. I promise it's a winner.[p]2 cans DRAINED black eyed peas (Bush's)
    1 diced green pepper
1 diced red onion - medium
    1/3 c sugar
1/3 c oil (not olive...vegetable is actually best)
    1/3 c white vinegar
1 clove garlic - whole[p]Take everything and throw it into a big bowl. Mix then cover and refrigerate for at least an hour or so. Once you're ready to serve, fish out the garlic clove. Serve plain or with some scoopable Fritos (using it as a dip)[p]Enjoy!
