Is pure hardwood flooring safe to burn

I have left over boards of 3/4" white oak flooring. Per the installer its pure wood, no chemical treatments, unlike an engineered hardwood flooring.

Would you think this is safe to use for smoking just as you would oak chunks? The installer is only one opinion and I want to be very certain before using this with food.

If it is completely un finished.  No stain or anything it is safe.

cowboy used to make their lump from it, so yes you can use it. ive also used cherry wood board drops for smoking wood

If it's flooring and not decking, it's certainly not treated.  You can easily spot sealer or paint on the outside.  So I'd say it's safe.
