First try at Kalbi-Korean Beef Ribs (really simple)
Turns out a super simple quick cook, perefct for weeknight. Adapted recipe from bon appetit grill book:
recipe:
- 1/2 c lo so soy
- tsp grated ginger
- 1/2 c scallion
- tbsp sugar
- tbsp garlic
- tbsp sesame oil
- tsp cracked pepper
- tsp red pepp flakes
- 2 tbsp water
mix ingredients together and refrigerate marinade overnight. day of cook pour marinade in a zip bag with 2 lbs of cross cut beef short ribs about 3 hrs before the cook. I got mine at oriental market $5 lb. Final hour let stay at room temp. Quick cook direct at 500-600. About a minute per side. I paired with some restraurant fried rice. very simple, relatively healthy and as with all thin cuts you get a great grill flavor.
