Table nest question

I read through the table threads looking for an answer for this and couldn't find it. I just got a BGE table and have a table nest. I am trying to figure out what to put the table nest on.I would rather not put a paver, because of the thickness or granite, because of the price. Is a piece of tile ok? What else would work?

I've got mine on a ceramic tile. Mine is a custom built table and the tile is inlaid, but that really shouldn't matter.

Got mine on a 3/4 inch thick piece of slate from Lowes

technically, you don't need anything. It shouldn't get hot enough to ignite wood below. But if you like to cook at 800F +, I'd keep an eye on it.

I will be getting my Egg in a couple weeks. I've done a considerable amount of reading. After reading NakedWhiz.com I have decided to set my egg on a Table Nest and then Firebricks. I understand firebricks can handle extreme heat up to 2000 degrees. Using the Table Nest sitting above the firebrick allows for air flow to rid some of the heat.
