Just finished my first meal on my new BGE. I must say that "Outback" will never see us again. Matter of fact don't think I'll ever buy another steak out. Tried Scott's INfamous Mustard Rubbed Steak and the family is raving. Been debating buying the BGE for years and finally broke down over the weekend. Great investment.
Looking forward to dinner again tomorrow night. What a MEAL!

    Willie Geezer,
Try some steaks with some Dizzy Pig Cowlick on them. I did some 3inch thick filets (Trex'd) last weekend and the weekend before. Both times they were awesome! (good thing because we had guests both times!)
All of the guests agreed they were the best steaks they had ever eaten!!
Now they know why we don't go out anymore for a great steak!!![p]mule

    Willie Geezer,
Congrats on your new egg! You will find that whn the family tells you that it is better at home you will probably end up only eating sushi out at restaurants. It's true! Joe

    Willie Geezer,
Smokin Joe is right on!! You are now expected to turn out something great on the EGG every weekend!!! The pressure is on!!![p]mule

  • Willie Geezer,
You're about to get spoiled rotten! Soon you won't go out for steaks, your favorite barbecue joint will bore the pants off of you, ordering in pizza is a thing of the past, and you will actually look forward to meatloaf night. No more Hungry Howie's wings for the ball games. You can duplicate or best some of the finest restaurant meals you've ever had with the egg.[p]The down side is that soon you will be well known for your smoking, grilling, and baking abilities. You'll have lots of attentive friends. ;-)[p]Welcome to our world! What size did you get, and what do you plan to get next?

EVERYBODY! hE'S ONTO US!!![p]I see you've fallen into our trap, which is really an underground effort to rid the world of restaurants. Bwuhahahaaa!![p]Seriously, though. I agree with you and know where you're coming from. We rarely eat at restaurants anymore, even for pizza. I kick myself anytime I order BBQ at any restaurant (except Corky's ribs or Big Bob Gibson's everything) because it doesn't come close to my own. Steaks at restaurants are a thing of the past for me, and even last night I cooked the best burgers I've ever eaten. Even my wife, who does not like red meat, loved them!
