I bought my folks a medium egg and helped them get started in bbq-ing and now I have to have one for myself. Have used gas grills for many years. I plan on picking up a large soon. What are the "must haves" to cover most uses? [p]Thanks, Steak

    Swinging Steak,
In my book there are only a few "must-haves." First and foremost is a plate setter. It is perfect for indirect cooking, which is what all of your smoking and baking will be done with. Speaking of baking, if you like pizza, bread, or other baked goods, a good pizza stone would be good to have. It'll make the best pizza you've ever had.[p]A grid lifter (either the BGE version or the Lawn Ranger version will do) will save you plenty of greasy fingers and make it easier to move your cooking grid around. [p]An ash tool (again, either the BGE version or the Lawn Ranger version) is invaluable for keeping your egg cleaned out. [p]And, to add more cooking space and raise your cooking surface - a grid extender. You can buy the BGE version or make your own using numerous plans around the 'net. [p]Thats my two cents.

    Swinging Steak,
Welcome & great lists already given! I think every egger should also have a Food Saver to keep the "extra stuff" that you cooked fresh when frozen and ready to be reheated for lunch, integrated into other recipies, OR freeze bulk meat/fish buys from Sam's, Costco or BJ's. Joe
