Use Dutch Oven in place of foiling ?

I have never used a dutch oven on the BGE, but it occurs to me that it might act as a replacement for foiling. I am thinking it might allow saucing or adding juice to ribs a little better than foiling does.[p]Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Kyle,
I suppose it would work, but then you have the clean up issue with the Dutch oven vs just pitching the used foil.

    Kyle,
Cast iron Dutch ovens work great in the egg. Perfect for foil replacement except when size and shape of the food requires foil, like four racks of ribs. You can fit two racks, each cut in half in a No.12 Dutch oven.[p]I use Lodge camp ovens, No.8 and No.12 and this past weekend made taco meat in the No.8. If you like pulled beef BBQ check out Clay's recipe in submitted recipes under beef. A Dutch oven is used for this cook.

    RRP,
Thanks! [p]Hey, that 6qt. will make some serious BBQ for you. Yeah, more toys - but money well spent. Have fun!
